Dec. 30–Minnesotans with health care coverage would gain more rights under proposed legislation announced Monday by Attorney General Mike Hatch and state Sen. Dallas Sams, DFL-Staples.
Called the “Fair and Balanced Health Care Act,” the proposal would require HMOs and health insurers to include a uniform industry-wide definition of “medically necessary treatment” in their contracts and tell members why they are being denied coverage for treatment.
